Coming to Cyprus it is a good idea to rent a car from a local rental shop and go on a trip to visit Troodos by yourself. With a map in our hand we can easily reach every village in Troodos. And it is worth doing it because even the smallest settlements possess not only the beautiful architecture, interesting vegetation, but also churches and monasteries that are worth seeing. Besides, we will have a chance of learning the techniques of squeezing out olive (Spilia), making pottery and sweets (Foini), and embroidering table cloths and doilies (Lefkara). Local people give a heartily welcome to every newcomer, even though we may have problems with communication in English, but we should take the risk.
